The Question

How has social networking effected our lives? From relationships, communications, to our view of ourselves the rise in these sites has undoubtedly changed its users, in particular the younger generation. In recent years anthropologists, sociologists, and psychologists, realizing the impact the Internet has had on society, have conducted large amounts of research that study these questions. College students in particular seem to be the subject of these studies, as they are of the social network generation with over 90% using these sites. These studies frequently focus on a pool of students' use of social networking in an attempt to analyze the correlations between other social behaviors and self perceptions. Not just individual effects but effects on relationships have taken place Many people from these analysts to news bloggers to college students themselves have tried to define the relationships between online social connections, yet depending on one's use of these social networking sites, their answers differ vastly.
